My Advertising Past
I'm Gramskii. I spent thirty years working in advertising, selling people things they didn't need with money they didn't have. Then I noticed the planet was on fire and I'd been holding the matches. So, I wrote a book as a sort of community service!
The Jigsaw without a lid
The problem with the climate conversation is that it’s like a giant jigsaw, but we've lost the box lid. So one group focuses on the pieces that look like "sky" (the environment), another works on the pieces that look like "trees" (fossil fuels), and a third hunt for the straight bits that look like the "border" (politics). But none of us are seeing the big picture so we aren't sure it's worth even trying to all fighting our own little battles rather than working together to win the war.
This isn't an accident. Investors in fossil fuels don't want us to see what the completed jigsaw looks like. They are hiding the box lid! They'd rather see the planet burn than lose their source of income.
A Force More Powerful
So I've described the big picture and what we can do about it
What I've written isn’t rocket science; I've tried to keep things simple because understanding the problem shouldn't be frightening or difficult. It's actually quite easy when we take it step by step. And when that happens we can be a force more powerful than the current system.
Changing the Conversation
So now I’m hoping someone with a lot of influence will read this book and say: "This really hits the frikkin' nail on the head. I'm going to tell the world about this because when enough of us work together we really will change things."
And if you're not a famous influencer, that's OK too - because we are all just little hummingbirds but when we pull together we can move the world.
